My love-affair with Le Creuset
Le Creuset is cast iron cookware made in France that is well-renowned for its quality, durability and performance.
As with my love-affairs with things new and outlandish, it started with my ever-blog-addict brother, Rainier. He is the one who introduced me to Le Creuset. One of the most expensive cookware, here and elsewhere, one of the most talked about and most coveted as well for enthusiasts.
I didn’t really pay much attention to it first, just civil oohhs and aahhhs to appreciate his latest find. At the back of my mind, “uhuh, okay, that is just a dream, a very expensive dream.”
Well, that was until I found out that the healthiest cookware is… cast-iron cookware. And the easiest cast-iron cookware is enameled, and the most renowned for quality (as in heirloom pieces you can pass on to your grandkids) is… none other than Le Creuset!
So given my limitations and preferences, of course I had to find Le Creuset and like with my quests, I did find it… here in Manila (of all places)! (more on my other quests later). I found quite a few actually, more than I can use (actually more than what my husband would like me to use, hahaha) and at such a good price, I decided to sell some of it. I’m down to my last few pieces and it’s quite haaaarrrd to part with it. I know it would be hard for me to find these pieces again (maybe not, hehehe, hopefully) at such great prices and it was such a great treasure hunt, these are my babies!!! But, business is business so I’m saying goodbye to my remaining treasures… maybe I can still keep 1 or 2 hehehe.
