How to make a curly-heart ribbon

If you want to add a little “heart” to your gift-giving.  You can try this little trick.

It’s very easy to make the heart ribbon.  You just need the following:

Materials:

• box of your choice
• wired ribbon (width depends on the box, in this case, 1/4″ thick)
• accent flower

Tools:

• pencil (or any long item you would like to use to curl / shape the ribbon)

How-To:

1. Wrap the wired ribbon around the box plus 6″ on both ends.

2. Twist at meeting point to secure. You will have approximately the 6″ tails on both ends.

3. Leaving 1/4-1/2″ from of the secured portion, wrap the ribbon on the pencil until you reach the end

4. Slowly remove the pencil, you will have a curly strand.

5. Do the same for the other tail.

6. Carefully link the curl of the ends.

7. Shape the heart.

8. Glue the accent flower.

9. Position the heart as you please.   I usually make it a little off-center and a bit on a diagonal to make it more interesting.
