Flower Tripping at the Lung Center Market
Aside from herbs, of course I had a wonderful time flower tripping during my latest expedition at the Lung Center Market.
Here are my faves this trip:

Striped white and pink dendrobiums (dendros) at P100@
When you talk about dendrobiums, we are more familiar with the white, purple and mixed-white-purple varieties we usually see during All Soul’s Day. Now I consider it a treat to be able to get the lime green varieties may it be plants or cut-flowers. So it’s quite a welcome sight to get to see this white and pink striped variety at a very affordable price.

My all-time favorite orchid, Phalaenopsis also called butterfly orchids. Can you see why? The plants are from P500-650.
Like most fairs, tiangges and markets, you can really get bargains when its closing time because the vendors would really want to dispose of their merchandise, less things to carry back. But, you can always haggle especially when you get 2 or more from the same vendor. These large Phalaenopsis orchid plants with really tall flowering stalks were going for P650 and went down to P600.

A new favorite, a little Dancing Lady, isn't she pretty?
This is definitely one of my new favorites, the Dancing Lady. I was quite surprised to hear the name because I was more familiar with the orchid variety, another favorite. Looking at it closely, you can really imagine this Dancing Lady dancing the night away with her prince. There are also hot pink and combination of hot pink with white “skirt” available. This is quite pretty and would look quite lovely hanging on your porch but a bit pricey at P250 and it comes from Baguio so I’m a bit hesitant since I’m not so sure if it will last in this Manila heat.

Pretty flower slippers from Paete only P250.
These slippers are from the skilled woodcarvers of Paete, Laguna. It’s surprisingly lightweight not like the popular wooden clogs we get at the mall and it’s really so pretty, and just right for summer or when you’re just in a playful mood. I’m so tempted to get one for my little girl who is just so in love with flowers as she is with shoes or slippers (I wonder why???), heck I’m tempted to get one for myself! grrr…
