The perfect color guide for the perfect flowers for your perfect girl

One of the things I have been asked by anxious guys while choosing flower bouquets is, “What’s a good color to give a girl?”

The answer would be depending on the following factors:

• State of your relationship
• Age of the lady
• Your preferred flower and availability
• For what occassion
• Culture
• Her favorite color (as always)
• The SIGN factor

State of relationship

Some guys go for red even after the first date.  That’s a bit premature.  Red has been mostly associated with deep love so you would be sending mixed signals and even worse may come off as insincere.  For new advances, its best to stick with lighter colors, such as pink, peach, lilac.

Although yellow is such a sunny color, it’s also associated with friendship and sometimes rejection, so its best to give it to relatives and friends but not to your favorite girl.

White is a nice color as a substitute for red, especially when you have stated your purest intentions and / or are already in a serious relationship.

Age of the lady

Guys, take note, it would be a huge turnoff to ask for a lady’s age.  You can nevertheless tell more or less.  Young ladies, highschool to college, lighter colors are most appropriate.  But again, you can go for deeper colors as your relationship progresses.

Preferred flower and availability

Even though you may have your favorites and preferences, if the color is not available, it’s not available.  Roses have a wide variety of colors, so have gerberas, carnations and mums.  But not hydrangeas, lilies, and sunflowers.  So if you have a very special event planned, its best to discuss it with your favorite florist so you know what is doable and your florists can also do everything necessary to accommodate your request.

Occassion

• Birthdays call for happy colors.   So bright or mixed pastels can be very pleasing to any girl.
• Anniversaries, red are a favorite of course.
• Valentine’s, definitely red all the way

Culture

If you are courting a Chinese girl, best to stay away from white, especially when the mom or her relatives will see it.  For them its a color associated with mourning.

Her favorite color

This is the ultimate deciding factor.  If it’s her favorite, it’s her favorite.  You will earn huge pogi points for this especially if you are the only one who knows about it.

The SIGN factor

How many of you guys know about this?  There are times when a lady has been burned by love (especially when more than once), she will ask for a SIGN from above, whoever first gives her the prayed for color would win her heart. For this one, you are on your own… well, actually you can also pray so you will also be given the SIGN what color to give!
