Simplest Tooth Fairy treat
I made this for my son, another project started in the middle of the night. Just in time to surprise him in the morning.
Yes, I could just as easily have given coins instead but where’s the fun in that? Also, we would rather not give that much importance to money yet. And, most importantly, his pearly whites are much more valuable to us than a mere few pesos and it deserves to be kept special.
Give this a try and you may even be rewarded by more than a simple thank you, like I was. (Read it here in Nanay Manila)
Now let’s get crafty, here’s the simplest Tooth Fairy Pouch you can make.
Materials Needed:
- Felt cloth 2″ x 5.5″
- Thread (gold is better, or DMC, but any will do)
- Button
- Needle and Scissors
- Glitter
Simple How-To:
- Cut the felt cloth into 2″ x 5.5″. You can use any scraps you have, you’ll just need to hem it.
- Fold into 3. 2 sides into 2″ to form the pouch, a the rest to form the flap and a little clearance between the flap and the pouch.
- Sew the sides of the pouch to enclose. You can stop there, but you can also sew all the edges for some trim.
- Cut a small opening on the flap enough for the button to fit in.
- Sew the button.
- Add some glitter and other decorative trim you fancy.
- Wait ’till morning for the magic.
Resist the temptation to put something inside. Find out why in Nanay Manila.
Make even the quaint things count,
