Mega Trade Fair season coming up!
With Christmas almost around the corner, expect trade fairs, tiangges and bazaars to happen almost every week.
I am such a fan of Megatrade trade fairs because I really find the best of the best products, exporters here, well except for the CITEM shows. But the Megatrade events are really for the average person because the CITEM events are focused on international wholesale buyers.
A few years back, the only way I was able to find out about upcoming events was to crane my neck to see the big Megatrade Hall event calendar board on Edsa! Imagine the stiffnecks I had to endure while riding the bus just so I know if I will be making my sojourn to the land of Megamall, hehehe
Now, I’m so happy, I can get the info online! Over the years, I have regularly attended these and I am ashamed to admit, I almost always carry something home. I even have to purposely carry just a small amount because I know I will only spend everything, of course with the ATM working that doesn’t work out as planned.
Here’s the line-up of my recommended trade fairs:
August 13 – 16, 2009 - 17th Buy Pinoy Exporter’s Fair, Hall 2
September 24 – 27, 2009 - 16th Pamasko ni Kuya, Pre-Christmas Selling Fair, Hall 2
September 30 – October 4, 2009 - Likha ng Central Luzon, Hall 2
October 22 – 25, 2009 - Orgullo Kan Bicol Regional Trade Fair, Hall 2
November 19 – 22, 2009 - 17th Pamasko ni Kuya, Pre-Christmas Selling Fair, Hall 3
November 27 – 30, 2009 - 18th Buy Pinoy Exporter’s Fair, Hall 2
December 11 – 13, 2009 - Mega Balikbayan Expo, Hall 2
Here are other exhibits that are probably worth going to:
August 20 – 23, 2009 - Thailand Trade Fair, Hall 2
September 25 – 27, 2009 - Our Home Warehouse Sale, Hall 3
November 6 – 8, 2009 - Toy Kingdom Warehouse Sale, Halls 1 and 2
November 19 – 22, 2009 - Mega Kids Fair, Hall 2
November 24 – 30, 2009 - 35th Annual Furniture and Furnishings Festival, Hall 1
December 3 – 15, 2009 - Paskuhan sa Megamall, Hall 3
December 11 – 13, 2009 - Gadgets Hobbies and Gizmos Fair, Hall 1
December 15 – 21, 2009 - Manila Toys and Gifts show, Halls 2 and 3
Looking at the line-up I am a bit sad that the exhibits are getting smaller. Years back I can remember the Likha and Furniture Fairs used to occupy 2 to 3 halls. Well I guess, like one of my sukis said, they are really feeling the crunch, and joining these trade fairs can get quite expensive. I am actually surprised not to see a Samar trade fair.
I hope to see the trade fairs back the way it was. Let’s support them and we’ll see more of their great products. What trade fairs do you think would be interesting and you would wish to go to?
Let’s make the quaint things count,
Theresa
