I grew up in Malabon, where we are very particular with our Pancit Malabon, we know how it tastes and looks like and if it were not up to the original, it just doesn’t feel right. Well, my mother has was able to get the feel of it, complete with the banana leaves! (too bad we didn’t have a bilao)
I chanced upon this article in Yahoo (where I get my updates due to our no-TV-rule) about a 47-year old unemployed lady who blew everyone away in Britain’s Got Talent. Of course I had to search for the clip and even after reading that, what I saw and heard was totally surreal! it literally made me cry a river, thankfully no one was around to see me do that.
Not so much as being pretty, it’s really more of, well, guts. A lot of guts!
I’m sure a lot of little girl’s dream of becoming models, myself included. (Hey, I grew up with the “I can feel it” campaign of Alice Dixon). But I wasn’t really cut out for it…( too short, hahahaha). But aside from that very obvious fact, I was just painfully shy.
